What is Qi Gong?

Qi gong is an ancient chinese practice of health care, health preservation and healing, which has a history of several thousand years.

Qi gong practice requires a person to focus on body posture, movements, breathing and mental thoughts. Qi gong activates the naturally occurring physiological as well as psychological mechanisms of self-repair and health recovery.

There are many types of qi gong in China, among them there are different forms of qi gong such as Taoism, Confucianism, medical science and martial arts, but they can be broadly divided into two categories: one is dynamic exercise and the other is static exercise. Dynamic qi gong involves a series of movements through the coordination and integration of consciousness and breathing. Static qi gong are methods for adjusting breathing and consciousness through three types: standing, sitting or lying down.
